Pyogenic granuloma of the tongue​​

Abstract

One of the most common inflammatory, non neoplastic lesion of the oral and maxillofacial region is pyogenic granuloma. It predominantly occurs on the gingival region, and rarely involves extra gingival sites of the oral cavity. A thorough knowledge of the lesion is essential for clinicopathological correlation and accurate diagnosis. Here, we present rare occurrence of pyogenic granuloma in the dorsal surface of anterior two thirds of the tongue and present a brief review of the same pathology.
