Abstract

In order to make the operation of all-electric propulsion ship more stable and efficient, a lithium battery energy storage system (ESS) is adopted to join the ship microgrid to meet the sudden change of load. In this paper, the lithium battery capacity optimization calculation method is designed. The main purpose of this method is to calculate the most cost-effective lithium battery parameters while achieving the optimal economic operating point of the generator set. Establish appropriate objective functions and constraints, and use Matlab software for programming calculations. The simulation of the method is verified by an electric propulsion ship as an example.
