Aquae Calidae - Towards a Serious Game Attracting Students to Ancient Civilizations

Abstract

In this paper we propose a new serious game - an exploration of the Aquae Calidae archaeological site, and describe a number of puzzle mini-games used for presenting educational content. By combining virtual reality, panorama pictures of real ancient buildings and interactive gaming components, we offer an entertaining way for primary-school students to improve their knowledge and understanding of the ancient civilizations on the Balkan Peninsula.
