Abstract
Reduction of CO/sub 2/ emission from the cement production industry requires material recycle and promotion of the process efficiency. In this article a new CO/sub 2/ sequestration process via waste cement carbonation was proposed and the feasibility of the proposed process was estimated through laboratory experiments. The proposed process is simple and environmental friendly using only waste cement, water and CO/sub 2/. The product of the proposed process is CaCO/sub 3/, it is thermodynamically stable and safety fixation of CO/sub 2/ was achieved.
