Uses of the Self in Integrated Contextual Systems Therapy

Abstract

In this article, the 'author discusses some of the generic ways in which she regards use of the self important, implying that certain processes in training can attend to this development in trainees. Drawing upon anecdotes from her personal life, she then demonstrates how she uses her learnings to intervene in therapy situations. The author also describes how through using herself spatially and physically, both therapist and clients can obtain systemic views of relationships and create new ways of thinking and acting.
