Abstract

A very well-known technology used nowadays in wireless communication systems is the one in which multiple antennas are employed at the receiver and at the transmitter terminals (MIMO) in order to improve overall system performances. This paper proposes a Massive MIMO system that uses orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) and investigates the performances achieved when the transmission is made over a Rayleigh fading channel, with different modulation schemes involved. The performance of the system will be evaluated depending on the number of the antennas at the base station (BS) and the number of active users, the main performance indicator used being the Bit Error Rate (BER).
