Abstract
The article considers the problem of specificity of cultural memory shared by different generations of the Kaliningrad region's residents. The article is based on the results of the sociological survey of the residents carried out in 2022. Identification of specific features of perception of subjects of national (country-wide) and regional history allows to draw a conclusion about the typicality (or atypicality) of historical representations of young people and other age groups. The authors analyze the respondents' answers to the questions concerning significant historical events, the collapse of the USSR, attitude to current problems of the region's past, etc. The researchers come to a conclusion about the closeness of Kaliningrad residents' historical perceptions to those typical of Russian society as a whole, as well as about the specificity of the cultural memory of young people.
