Abstract

Measurements of the near-field indicates that the directivity enhancement obtained by the insertion of disc(s) inside conical horns of different flare angles are mainly due to the phase equalization of the electromagnetic field in the aperture. The amplitude variation is not especially improved, except when three discs are inserted.
