Abstract

Ваан Тотовенц – один из известных армянских писателей начала 20 века. Движимый патриотическими чувствами, он стал участником армянского добровольческого движения. Встреча и дружба с Зораваром Андраником стали поворотным моментом в жизни писателя. В апреле 1917 года вышел первый номер газеты «Айастан», редактором которой был назначен Тотовенц. Работа на посту главного редактора выявила новые грани его таланта. Газета стала рупором злободневных проблем армянского народа. Однако самым обсуждаемым вопросом на страницах этого издания был вопрос переживших Геноцид западных армян и возвращение исторической родины – Западной Армении. Vahan Totovents is one of the famous Armenian writers and orators of the early 20th century. He joins the Armenian volunteer movement out of patriotic motives. The meeting and closeness with Zoravar Andranik is a turning point in the life of the writer. In April 1917, the Hayastan magazine was published, and Totovents was approved as its editor. When editing a daily newspaper, the exceptional aspects of his creative talent were revealed. The pages of the magazine reflected big and small problems and concerns of the Armenian people. However, the main concern of the newspaper remained the situation associated with the plight of hundreds of thousands of Western Armenians who survived the genocide, and the problem of resettlement and restoration of Western Armenia.
