ABSCESSO HEPÁTICO POR TUBERCULOSE EM PACIENTE COM HIV: UM RELATO DE CASO

Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, common in developing countries. Pulmonary disorders are the main manifestations of this disease, although there are also extrapulmonary manifestations, which are more common in immunocompromised patients, as example of the patients coinfected with HIV. Liver abscess is the least common form of injury. However, when analyzing mortality rates and treatment outcomes, it is one of the worst prognostic extrapulmonary manifestations. The case reported follows the diagnosis through clinical signs and symptoms, in addition to performing laboratory and imaging tests, in order to diagnose and indicate surgical and drug treatments to deal with the infection and its consequent manifestation.
