Preserving the Sociosemiotic Function of a Text as a Prerequisite Ensuring the Authenticity of Translation

Андерсона «Уайнсбург, Огайо» с позиции социосемиотического подхода, предполагающего в процессе перевода перенос из одной языковой системы в другую, одной культурной картины мира в другую, одного социосемиотического контекста в другой. При этом разработанные Р. Якобсоном функции предлагается дополнить социосемиотической функцией текста, которая в процессе предпереводческого анализа может служить камертоном, определяющим многослойность созданной писателем коммуникативной ситуации и показывающим не только, что и как говорят и делают герои художественного текста, но и помогающим эксплицировать социально-культурные условия, определяющие эти слова и действия, а также голос автора и его философию. The author of the paper advocates the idea that the sociosemiotic approach to fiction translation, a fragmentary novel in particular, proves to be the most comprehensive one, as it deals with bilingual, bi-cultural and bi-social transference. The paper also discusses the sociosemiotic function of a text as added to the ones proposed by R. Jacobson. This function is treated as a prerequisite ensuring the authenticity of translation, because the sociosemiotic function concerns itself with what the characters say and do and how they do it; it also focuses on when (in what context) and why, that means the large-scale social-cultural consequences of such words and actions, serving as an instrument of perfecting the language in all its other functions in the target text. Thus, the sociosemiotic function of a text exposes the multi-level nature of the communicative situation created by the writer, the peculiarities of his/her manner of writing and his/her philosophy, which should be preserved in translation.
