Abstract
Developments in power electronics have led to the availability of a large number of commercial converters and to the increasing popularity of asynchronous motors in variable-speed applications. A software-hardware interface is presented for asynchronous motor digital speed control based on commercial converters. It is shown that the most important parameters of the control system (gain, integral action, derivative action, and sampling period) can be changed. In this way, the influence of these parameters on the system response can be analyzed. The hardware interface allows the use of commercial inverters in AC motor digital speed control.<>
