Abstract
Waste management and processing is a global preoccupation. Everyone seeks to save the consumption of natural resources through the recovery and reuse of waste. The study of waste flows is among the current research topics in reverse logistics. One of the problems of implementing reverse logistics is the high cost of flow. Metal scrap comes mainly from industry, they are qualified as hazardous industrial waste requiring special treatment. In this article, we propose a linear programming model to optimize the processing flow of metal waste. The objective is to determine the efficient route of the reverse logistics which will allow to minimize the total cost of the operation of recycling of metals due to capacity constraints imposed. This cost is the sum of the transport and processing costs throughout the reverse chain.
