Abstract
The article shows the development of the COVID-2019 coronavirus pandemic in the Russian Federation and Russian diasporas in the countries of Southeast Asia in 2020–2022, the impact of the pandemic on the economy of the Russian Federation and the diaspora of Russian mi-grants in the host countries of Southeast Asia. It is noted that the coro-navirus pandemic has caused significant damage to the tourism and service sector in Southeast Asia, where the majority of Russian expats are employed, which contributed to the return of about 60–70% of their representatives to their homeland. In turn, the position of Russian spe-cialists employed in the manufacturing sector of Southeast Asia, espe-cially the energy sector, turned out to be more stable, and also safer due to the absence of the spread of the ideology of aggressive nationalism and ethnic discrimination against Russian and Russian-speaking expats.
