Abstract

In the new educational model are tasks tutor academic monitoring, planning learning objectives, supporting students' adjustment to the institutional environment so the role of the teacher is modified from a transmitter of knowledge to a potentiator skills and abilities in students. We report an investigation aimed at determining the teaching competencies for the development of mentoring and identify perceptions that students have about the tutor. Highlights the skills developed by the tutors, same as described from training (domain knowledge), socialization and interpersonal (values, attitudes, communication) which are conductive learning environments based on the highest standards of living and professional development. Also, the results of the perception of students based on the topics covered during mentoring, guidance thereof.
