Factors impacting the delay in diagnosis and treatment of testicular cancer: A review

Abstract

Early diagnosis and management of testicular cancer can improve mortality and prognosis. This systematic review found extensive patient-, physician-, and system-related factors that increased the length of time to diagnosis. Future preventative strategies should target the modifiable factors such as lack of awareness, embarrassment, accessibility, general practitioner education, and clinical training and streamlined imaging processes.
