Abstract

Recently, virtual surgery technologies have much progress and many simulators have been developed for education. However, the equipment for virtual surgery has been too expensive because the data gloves are originally designed for motion capture in film industry. The purpose of this study was to develop a new motion capture data glove device specially for virtual surgery. We chose a cost-effective resistance sensor and built an inexpensive data glove. Under the demand of reasonable accuracy, it is capable of being used in surgery teaching.
