Serum GH, after the administration of thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH) did not differ from values observed as spontaneous surges, in contrast to a consistent increase in thyrotropin and prolactin. Episodic secretion of GH persisted in thyroidectomized rats and did not differ significantly from that present in intact controls.
