The Questionnaire for the Evaluation of the Burnout Syndrome was applied.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>In the sample studied, BS presented a prevalence of 51.21% at the medium level, 9.75% at the high level and 2.43% at the critical level. Significant differences were found between groups by service and work seniority.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>A high prevalence of symptoms of BS was found in the study participants, derived mainly from the excessive workload, the type of care provided, as well as experiences related to contact with people living with cancer, the hospital environment, and the type of interpersonal relationships that emerge there. Abstract

Background: The burnout syndrome (BS) is defined as a response to chronic work stress.
