South China Fisheries Science is an academic aquatic science and technology journal sponsored by the South China Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fisheries Sciences and openly circulated at home and abroad. Founded in 2005 (former name: Southern Fisheries), it mainly reports papers, research briefs and reviews on fishery resources, fishing technology, fishery facilities, fishery environmental protection, aquaculture and stock enhancement, fishery biological diseases, aquatic product processing and comprehensive utilisation, as well as basic research on aquaculture, etc. The journal is based on the south and faces the whole country.
In 2008, it was selected as a source journal of Chinese scientific and technological paper statistics (Chinese scientific and technological core journal), in 2011, it was selected as a core academic journal of RCCSE China, and it was successively selected as one of the Chinese Core Journals in 2011, 2014, 2017 and 2020 editions, and it was selected as one of the Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) in 2013, and it was selected as a core academic journal of Scopus, Chemistry and Fisheries of the Netherlands and Chemistry of the United States in 2009.
