First, we compared differences including age, sex, body mass index, American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status classification system, preoperative waking ability, fracture type, nail length, neck shaft angle, reduction method, reduction quality and tip apex distance between patients with and without postoperative complications. Second, multivariable </span>logistic regression analysis was employed to assess factors associated with postoperative complications resulting from A3 fractures.</span></p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Among 120 patients with A3 fractures, postoperative complications were identified in 12 patients (10.0%). Conclusions

These findings suggest that surgeons should aim to perform appropriate postoperative reduction and to prevent postoperative complications when using a cephalomedullary nail for A3 fractures among older patients.
