The focus of this paper is to introduce and analyze a novel fast MPPT strategy based on predictive current control. The overall system is designed to improve the energy control performance in tracking the maximum power point (MPP) of a photovoltaic array under irradiation changes condition and fixed load and will be compared to the classical Perturb and observe technique. The proposed control scheme and the classical perturbe and observe (P&O) technique are designed for residential application and implemented in MATLAB/SIMULINK software.
