The materiality of things: First results of diffractometry and spectrometry analyzes on secondary mineral precipitations associated with rock art in Piraí do Sul, Paraná, Brazil
This study aimed to analyze the minerals precipitated in rocky supports located close to sites with rock art in the municipality of Piraí do Sul, Paraná, in order to detect possible mineralogical variations from the identification of secondary minerals. The results point to the existence of minerals from important weathering activities related to rainfall and the action of minerals that alter deposits with hydrothermal action. The conclusions point to the widespread existence of these minerals that result, in part, from the alteration of the rocky support caused by chemical weathering processes by the action of rain in interaction with organic matter (lichen, microorganisms).
