The composite adsorbent was used as packing for the solid phase extraction (SPE) and the enrichment of organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) in water. The results indicate the SWCNTs entirely wrap the silica particle surfaces to form SWCNT shells. This preparation method is simpler and more efficient than existing methods. SWCNTs@Silica composite materials can reduce the number of SWCNTs required and improve their utilisation. The extraction capacity for OOPs in water was higher than for C18 but below HLB.
