De esta manera, las empresas necesitan adaptarse a las necesidades de sus clientes y responder de una manera óptima a sus requerimientos de existencias. Según estudios realizados en años recientes, existe una nueva técnica llamada Demand Driven Material Requirement Planning (DDMRP), la cual permite a las empresas adaptarse de manera óptima a la demanda del entorno, reduciendo el nivel de inventarios innecesario sin ocasionar desabastecimientos. El impacto positivo de dicha técnica puede maximizarse al poseer un correcto control de inventarios físicos en el almacén, para ello la aplicación previa de la filosofía 5S en las zonas de control de mercadería tiene un impacto significativo en la eficiencia de almacenamiento. Tras implementar una gestión de inventarios basado en los métodos 5s y DDMRP se redujo los niveles de existencias en 10.87%, se incrementó la exactitud de registro de inventarios en 9.48% e incremento la rotación de inventarios en 0.99. Abstract – The importance of a good inventory management is essential for the optimal development of any company, as well as for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs). In this way, companies need to adapt to the needs of their customers and respond optimally to their stock requirements. According to studies carried out in recent years, there is a new technique called Demand Driven Material Requirement Planning (DDMRP), which allows companies to optimally adapt to the demand of the environment, reducing the level of unnecessary inventories without causing shortages. The positive impact of this technique can be maximized by having a correct control of physical inventories in the warehouse, for this the prior application of the 5S philosophy in the merchandise control areas has a significant impact on storage efficiency.
