Garrisons of the North-West of Russia (1699–1727)

На примере стратегически важнейшего региона эпохи Великой Северной войны 1700–1721 гг. – северо-западных регионов России и отвоеванных у Швеции «остзейских провинций» – в статье рассматривается процесс преобразования старой пехоты русского войска, и интеграции ее в новые структуры вооруженных сил. Основное внимание уделено истории отдельных полков – стрелецких, солдатских, морских – как в период их активного формирования (в 1706–1711 гг.), так и в процессе сведения к штатной организации 1711 года, с последующими преобразованиями до времен Петра I. As in the case of a strategically important region of the era of the Great Northern War of 1700–1721, the north-western regions of Russia and the «Baltic provinces» conquered from Sweden, the article examines the process of transforming the old infantry of the Russian army and integrating it into the new structures of the armed forces. The primary focus is on the history of individual regiments – Marksman(if the marksmen were a specialized title, it should be capitalized, if they were another unit within the army, they should be lower case, like infantry, horsemen, etc.), soldiers, naval – both during their active formation (in 1706–1711) and in the process of being reduced to a staffing structure in 1711, with subsequent transformations until the time of Peter the Great.
