The study aimed to explore 1) the positive and negative effects of the new virtual learning environment on academic learning, 2) students’ perceptions of online learning tools and 3) students’ perceptions in regard to their employment prospects after graduation and their career in the apparel industry. The results revealed that motivation was a major factor that influenced students to engage in learning in a virtual learning environment.
