Periodic reversal of cross linking element between the two parallel pair, which can ensuring the continuity of the transmission waveguide and results in a π -phase shifting with the adjacent inversion units. At the junction between adjacent cells, periodic discontinuity of structure can be viewed as a perturbation to generate space harmonic, generating a mixed mode is operation in its leaky-wave region, thereby enabling the efficient coupling of surface-plasmon mode into free-space radiating modes.
