The aim of this project is to design and implement an efficient Smart Automatic Water Meter System by selecting the best meter mounting position for accurate measurement, monitoring water consumption, displaying the balance and controlling the water flow of the customer according to their balance received from the designed billing, beside extending the battery lifetime of the water metering system by using isolated mains electricity and a standby battery. The best mounting position was achieved accuracy of 97% for the meter at the horizontal position. The system was developed using the Arduino Uno microcontroller to monitor and control the consumption process through utilizing a solenoid valve according to the balance received from the GUI, which was developed using MATLAB software. Data was transferred to the meter through the RF module.
