In current practice in \n India the tolerant of chronic low back pain is seeking help \n either from orthopedic surgeon or a physiotherapist or \n traditional medicine and therefore the objective of all \n these systems mainly focuses on the alleviation of the \n physical symptoms and improvement of the functional \n performance. This study will provide a new insight to \n treating physician or physiotherapist who assess and \n manage the psychological component of health along \n with the physical health to achieve optimal health. \nObjective: To assess the association of chronic low back \n pain with anxiety and depression. \nMethodology: The present study aim to correlate chronic \n low back pain with depression and anxiety. The subjects \n participated were screened and were ruled out according \n to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The demographic data \n of the subjects was collected and they were also \n instructed to complete the NPRS (Numeric pain rating \n scale) and HADS (Hospital anxiety and depression scale). \nResults: The result of the study showed significant \n positive correlation of low back pain with depression \n (p<0.002 value) and non-significant correlation with \n anxiety. \nConclusion: The present study demonstrates correlation \n of chronic low back pain with depression and no \n significant result with anxiety.
