MEOX1 not only plays essential roles in cell proliferation, migration and differenti-ation, but also participates in the formation of skeleton, muscle and blood vessel during embryonic development. Recent studies demonstrate that MEOX1 is over-expressed in breast cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer and prostate cancer tissues, which is closely associated with lymph node metastasis and poor prognosis in patients with cancer.
