Modified materials were obtained by the direct introduction of silver to the synthesis mixture or by impregnation of the obtained oxides. The structure of the oxides was investigated by the FT-IR and FT-IR/PAS methods. It was found that the presence of silver in the synthesis conditions of manganese oxides caused partial replacement of potassium from the channels and distortion of the cryptomelane structure. In the impregnating samples silver was located on the outer surface of the oxides grains.
