Dayak ikat weaving was born from the cultural elements that make up Dayak Sintang Community. The motifs developed in the Dayak ikat weaving are adopted from various objects derived from plants, animals, life – gear, beliefs, and stories that come from a weaver’s environment. The motifs on woven fabric serve as reminders for users and contain values held by the Dayak community. The meaning contained in Dayak weaving was passed down orally. The verbal decline resulted in easy changes in meaning, it was necessary to study and document meanings in writing, thus the meaning that is derived is always the same. This study uses a qualitative research method with an interpretative anthropological approach.
