Diseño local y fabricación en serie de aeronaves en Argentina: entre el desarrollo tecno-productivo y la soberanía nacional (1943-1946)

The general objective of this work is to analyze the beginning of the serial manufacture of aircraft of local design in Argentina in 1943, from the socio-technical perspective as a theoretical-methodological framework. In correspondence with the specific objectives, techno-nationalist thought is presented as a driver of technological and industrial development associated with the political and economic self-determination of the country. Then the transformation of the Fábrica Militar de Aviones into an Instituto Aerotécnico and the first stage of the trajectory of the new institution between 1943 and 1946 is analyzed. Finally, the design and serial manufacture of the first local aircraft is analyzed: the IA 22 DL. From the analysis it is derived that the external restrictions caused by the Second World War and the stimulus of techno-nationalism encouraged the formation of a socio-technical alliance for the local production of artifacts in an area considered strategic, such as aeronautics.
