This paper identifies how the newspaper, the mirror, and the kaleidoscope can be useful assets in helping faculty to focus their teaching and enhance the likelihood that they can publish their scholarly research. The paper includes five suggestions for faculty to consider as they apply these three tools. Objective: This paper provides helpful insights for business faculty as they seek to improve their teaching effectiveness and their ability to provide examples in publishable academic papers. Methods: Specific examples are provided of the use of the newspaper, the mirror, and the kaleidoscope for business scholars. Results: Five suggestions are provided to facilitate effective teaching and writing.
