The problems of SPS Engineering were messy tool setting, bad working environment, and inefficient process flow. After implementing 5S principles in SPS Engineering, the average time consuming looking for and retrieving drill bits and end mill bits were reduced by 59.5% and 49.4%, respectively. The time reduction is the direct result of 5S implementation and allows SPS Engineering to manufacture products more efficiently and productively.
