ADAPTASI BENTUK DAN WUJUD PENATAAN RUANG BALI MADYA DALAM MEMPERTAHANKAN RUANG TERBUKA HIJAU
The natural damage is getting worse, especially in urban areas. The damage was caused by the decreasing number of green open spaces. Modern society thinking is not in line with traditional society, especially in spatial planning. Modern society tends to eliminate Green Open Space for commercial purposes while traditional society provides a large space for the provision of Green Open Space. This condition can be observed from the spatial arrangement of the Bali Madya traditional society. This study aims to determine how to adapt the spatial planning of Bali Madya, especially in densely populated urban areas. This study uses a qualitative method which will be presented descriptively. Data collection was carried out using a purposive sample method with the criteria for residential houses using Bali Madya arrangement and having a Green Open Space. The location of the research object is in the city of Denpasar, Gianyar and Badung regencies which are directly adjacent to the city of Denpasar. The increasing population in urban areas makes it difficult to get enough land for residential houses for Green Open Space. The steps that can be taken are adapting the traditional way of managing the yard of the living house. The adaptation of the Bali Madya spatial arrangement does not eliminate open space but only changes shape and form. This is due to adjustments to the availability of land, the dimensions of the building. The form of Green Open Space is adjusted through the selection of plant types and pavement materials.
