Designing For People: Keeping The User In Mind

When designing systems that will be used by people, it is paramount that everyone involved remembers the key point; the system is to be used by a person, the user. This is at the core of User Centered Design, but how exactly do we accomplish this? The workshop will focus on various User Centered Design processes. There is an emphasis on hands-on techniques for identifying key insights about users, and using those to inform decision making processes throughout the development process. Key to this will be participant analysis of these processes with the goal of comparison, refinement, and improvement to these processes that can be used during the coming year.
