Teatro de grupo en Xalapa: sondeo en tiempos de pandemia

El artículo presenta las bases y el contexto de la investigación “Teatro de grupo en Xalapa”. En la circunstancia del cierre de actividades culturales por la pandemia de COVID-19, surgieron nuevas prioridades que exigieron a la investigación centrarse en los impactos que esta situación provocó en la actividad de los grupos de teatro independiente. Para visibilizar esta situación, en junio de 2020 se aplicó la encuesta diseñada para explorar el estado de cosas, tomando en cuenta tres momentos: a) la situación previa a la pandemia, en términos de organización y dedicación al trabajo teatral, las finanzas de los grupos y de sus miembros; b) los impactos de la pandemia sobre su actividad teatral, su economía y su estado de ánimo, así como c) las actividades y proyectos emergentes ante una “nueva normalidad”. El informe de resultados de la encuesta aporta comentarios dirigidos a la interpretación de datos y apunta las nuevas preguntas. Group theater in Xalapa: survey in pandemic times Abstract This paper presents the basis and context of a research project titled “Group Theatre in Xalapa”. After the closure of cultural activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, new priorities emerged that required the project to focus on the impact that this situation caused on the activity of independent theater groups in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz. To rise awareness on this situation, we carried out a survey in June 2020, which was designed to explore the new state of affairs. The survey considered three different moments: a) the groups’ situation prior to the pandemic, in terms of their organizations and dedication to theater work, their finances and their members’ finances; b) the impacts of the pandemic on the groups’ theatrical activity, their economy and their state of mind; as well as; c) emerging activities and projects in the face of a “new normal”. The survey results report provides feedback aimed at interpreting the data, and points to new questions.
