El rol del padre sustituto frente al proceso de crianza de adolescentes con discapacidad cognitiva

Abstract: Objective. To understand the role of surrogate parents in the process of upbringing adolescents with a cognitive disability belonging to the Substitute Homes modality of the ICBF and operated by the CEDER corporation. Methodology. Qualitative study and hermeneutic method. Results and conclusion. Transformations in the traditional parental role adjusted to current social dynamics that demand new positions, ideas and practices of parents inupbringing processes. In the exercise of the parental role, surrogate parents assume parental guidelines, beliefs and upbringing practices, based on their involvement in the lives of adolescents. The insights into disability have a conception based on potentiality, on capabilities and skills- Likewise, they influence and interconnect with the practices and guidelines adopted in the parenting process, and are oriented towards the construction of environments thatpromote the human development of adolescents.
