The compound exhibits a small solid solubility of Sr substituting for La, and Mg substituting for Ga, respectively. In the system La<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>–SrO–Ga<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> the compound is stable within a very narrow concentration region.
