Insulation Characteristics of Overhead Insulated Line Affected by Line Galloping
Galloping fault is one of the common fault types of overhead transmission lines, which has a huge impact on the safe and reliable operation of the entire power grid. In this paper, a three-dimensional model of 10kV overhead insulated conductor is built, and the electric field at the connection between the conductor and the post insulator of the overhead insulated conductor is analyzed by the finite element analysis method. The results show that there is an electric field at the connection of the overhead insulated conductor and the post insulator which is different from the other parts of the conductor. At the same time, the electric field intensity will change with the swing of the conductor. The changing electric field will keep the insulating material in the process of non-stop polarization, which will ultimately affect the insulation performance of the conductor.
