The high energy trauma has been increasing significantly in the last decade, in a good part of the lower limbs, requiring, in many cases, fasciotomy due to the subsequent compartment syndrome. In this context, its closure often leads to a delay in the integral treatment of the patient, the return of their activities and may lead to local infection, in addition to generate high costs. Many options are suggested to the plastic surgeons for attempting to approach edges and reconstruct the extremities, such as flaps, grafts, vacuum dressing and elastic suture and even expansive devices are available, sometimes in combination with the previous ones. The Kirschnner wire progressive skin stretching method of closure presented, represents an low cost and easily reproductible way to dealing with this kind of wound. ■ ABSTRACT ■
