Factors Influencing the Occurrence of Baby Blues Syndrome in Postpartum Mothers
Baby blues syndrome, or maternity blues, is a mild mood disorder after childbirth. The incidence ranges from 1 to 2 per 1000 births in Indonesia (50-70%). The occurrence of baby blues syndrome typically lasts for 14 days postpartum. If the symptoms are not addressed, it may lead to a more dangerous condition known as postpartum psychosis. This study aims to identify the factors influencing the occurrence of baby blues syndrome. This study is observational analytical research using a cross-sectional approach. It was conducted at Salotungo Health Center, Batu-Batu Health Center, and Cangadi Health Center from December 2020 to February 2021. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample in this study consisted of 50 postpartum mothers who met the inclusion criteria, and a questionnaire was used to collect data. A significant relationship was found between education and occupation factors and the occurrence of baby blues syndrome. At the same time, age, parity, and type of delivery did not show a significant relationship with the occurrence of baby blues syndrome.
