We sort these designs into three types: (1) L-shaped strip array antenna, (2) patch comb-line antenna, and (3) planar aperture antenna. The designs share the following characteristics: feasibility of differential feeding for direct integration with differential mm-wave circuits, operation based on traveling-wave excitation for wide bandwidth performance, and compatibility with standard printed-circuit-board (PCB) fabrication technology for low cost.
