TINDAKAN PENGENDALIAN INFEKSI PADA PERAWAT DI RUANG RAWAT INAP DI RUMAH SAKIT KOTA SEMARANG

[ INFECTION CONTROL MEASURES IN NURSES IN THE INPATIENT ROOM IN SEMARANG CITY HOSPITAL ] Infection control measures are an effort to prevent the transmission of infection to patient and medical personnel, especially nurses. The incidence of infection ( phlebitis ) at hospital tends to increase. This study aims to determine the factors associated with infection control measures in nurses in an effort to prevent the risk of healthcare associated infections (HAIs) in the inpatient room of Hospital Semarang. This study uses a cross sectional approach. The sample number of 66 nurses was determined by purposive sampling . Data analysis is performed on a univariate, bivariate, and multivariate basis using chi square tests and binary logistic regression tests. The results showed factors in infection control measures in nurses were the availability of means is the most dominant variable in influencing the implementation of universal precaution , seen from the value of coefficient B (3,462) and odds ratio (31,896) which is the largest among other variables.It’s necessary to manage these factors so that there is no increase in the incidence of HAIs and a decrease in the quality of services at hospital in Semarang.
