ESCC develops gradually from the precancerous lesions. The researches about biomarkers mainly concentrate in the nucleic acid and protein, including cytogenetic abnormalities, amplifications, deletions, mutations, breakage and fusions of genomic DNA, expression changes of mRNA, microRNA (miRNA) and long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) in RNA level, and expression level, subcellular localization, and post-translational modifications of proteins. Molecular alterations in precancerous lesions of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the most predominant malignancies worldwide. ESCC develops gradually from the precancerous lesions.
