This account of the essays, poems and stories collected in the present volume reflects on the authors’ diverse forms of engagement with Dante via the implications of proximity and distance. debate in Italy, especially for those scholars working in the field of Indo-European Historical Linguistics and contemporary Theoretical Linguistics. Today, after 50 years of life, Studi e Saggi Linguistici has a firm position in this field, but it also gained a larger international profile, including well-known foreign scholars as members of its Scientific Committee, and fostering the publication of English-written papers.
