The Problems of the Source Usage By Orientalists in Their Hadīth Researches

The purpose of this study is to find out, assemble and assess the problems in the sources used by the orientalists. This is so crucial in order to assess the scientific studies of orientalists which evaluate the Islamic understanding regarding the authenticity and interpretation of Hadīth. To insert the source problems in a new systematic form with some new examples thus their reappraisal is what distinct our study from previous works which, generally talking, introduce, examine and criticize orientalists’ notions from their vary edifices. By using the methods of social sciences to wit literature study, analysis and criticism, we conclude that source ignorance, source deficiency, missing of sources, misusage, subjectivity, secondary, weak, archeologic, Non-Islamic, Non-Sunni and alike sources are the main problems of orientalists’ source usage.
