A high-inductance inductor must be used to reduce the pulsations of the DC inductor current and to produce a sinusoidal input current. To address this, the authors propose a single-phase buck rectifier with improved input current waveform by adding a switch for back flow of the DC inductor current to the conventional structural elements.
